Buenos Aires International (Ezeiza)

Ministro Pistarini International Airport (EZE)

Overview

Among the busiest airports in South America, Ezeiza Ministro Pistarini International Airport is the main gateway for travellers going to Argentina. Located 14 miles (22km) southwest of Buenos Aires, the facility handles 85 percent of Argentina's international flights, and serves nearly nine million passengers each year.

Consistently voted among the best airports in South America by Skytrax, Ezeiza International Airport has a good selection of duty-free shops and authentic Argentinean restaurants, as well as massage services, a beauty spa, and a cigar bar. Transportation into Buenos Aires is provided by buses and taxis, bringing the tango halls and world-class theatres within easy reach.

The airport is fairly easy to navigate, but can be very busy at peak times, so passengers should allow plenty of time for transfers and catching flights.

Location

The airport is situated about 18 miles (30km) to the southwest of Buenos Aires.

Getting to the city

Manuel Tienda Leon runs a shuttle-bus to Madero Terminal in the city centre, where smaller shuttle buses connect passengers to final destinations. Rides to the city centre take about 40 minutes to an hour. Public buses are cheaper but can take up to two hours to the city centre.

Metered taxis are available outside the terminal building. Reservations can be made from official booths just outside the customs area; unofficial taxis should be avoided.

Private cars, also called remis, are a reliable option with fixed pre-set prices. They are available for hire on the lower level of both terminals or by phone.
