Sao Paulo-Guarulhos International
Governador André Franco Montoro International Airport is generally known as Sao Paulo-Guarulhos International Airport and is one of the main entry and exit points for those travelling to Brazil. Sao Paulo International handles over 26 million passengers each year. The high volume of air traffic means that over a quarter of flights at Sao Paulo International experience delays of more than 15 minutes.
The airport is located 16 miles (26km) northeast of Sao Paulo.
Getting to the city
EMTU buses depart GRU Airport, bound to Congonhas Airport, Praça da República, Tietê Bus Terminal and Barra Funda, Itaim Bibi, Circuit Paulista, and Brooklin Novo. There is an airport shuttle bus which drops off at the main hotels.

Car hire companies include Avis and Hertz.
Taxis are available outside the terminals. Visitors are advised to take the official airport Guarucoop taxis; they are usually a little more expensive but give peace of mind.
Transfer between terminals
Terminal 1 is small and handles only domestic flights. A free shuttle bus connects it to Terminals 2 and 3, which are themselves linked by a walkway. There is a fourth terminal that handles large air cargo, and is off limits to passengers.
There are a number of bars, restaurants and shops at the airport. There are banks, currency exchange bureaux and ATMs. There is duty-free shopping before customs for Arrivals, tourist information desks, as well as business facilities and conference rooms in nearby hotels.
Parking is available at a variety of different parking buildings around the terminals, including standard and premium parking options.
Flights to Sao Paulo-Guarulhos International Airport are available on major airlines including Aerolíneas Argentinas, AeroMéxico, Air Canada, Air China, Air France, Alitalia, American Airlines, Avianca, Azul, Boliviana de Aviación, Copa Airlines, Cubana de Aviación, Delta Airlines, Emirates, Ethiopian Airlines, Etihad Airways, Gol Airlines, Iberia, KLM, Korean Air, LAN Airlines, Lufthansa, Passaredo, Qatar Airways, Singapore Airlines, South African Airways, Swiss International Airlines, TAM Airlines, TAP Portugal, Turkish Airlines, and United Airlines.
Pay-per-use wifi is available in both terminals.
VIP Lounges and conference facilities are available and the business facilities, including telephones, fax machines and computers, can be found on the departures floor.
