Ndjamena International Airport
The N'Djamena International Airport is the only international airport in Chad. The airport has a single runway and is used for both civilian and military aviation. There is a French military base at the airport which is shared by the small Chadian Air Force. There are frequent direct flights between N'Djamena and Paris and a number of African cities, including Addis Ababa, Kano, Khartoum and Cairo.
The airport is located in the northwestern corner of the city.
Getting to the city
There are always taxis waiting outside the airport to drive visitors into the city. Visitors should be sure to agree on a fare before setting off. Some of the hotels in Ndjamena provide free airport shuttles for guests.
Local time is GMT +1.
Avis has car hire facilities at the airport.
The taxi rank is located directly opposite the terminal, close to the parking lot.
Facilities at the airport are limited but there are bathrooms, seating areas and a simple shop. Passenger's are advised to note, however, that these facilities are extremely basic and that they should bring their own water and food with them if they are expecting a long wait at the airport.
The parking lot is located across the road from the airport terminal.
