Helsinki-Vantaa International Airport
The main gateway for flights to Finland, Helsinki Vantaa International Airport is located in Vantaa, roughly 11 miles (17km) north of central Helsinki. First built for the Summer Olympics in 1952, the facility has been ranked among the world's best airports several times over the last 20 years.
The airport is clean and well-run, with a reputation for quick processing times and friendly staff members. Major renovation was completed in 2012, incorporating the addition of more shops and restaurants, as well as more seating areas for passengers.

The airport is situated about 11 miles (17km) from Helsinki city centre.
Getting to the city
There are regular bus services between Helsinki, the railway station and the airport. Bus transfers from the airport to local hotels and parking areas are free of charge. The Finnair City Bus also transfers passengers to downtown Helsinki.

Avis, Budget, Hertz and Europcar are represented at the airport. Service desks are located in the corridor between the two terminals.
Taxis are available at ranks outside the Arrivals hall of both domestic and international terminals. Expect to pay around €45 to €50 for the 30-minute journey into the city centre.
Transfer between terminals
Terminals are in the same building and within easy walking distance of one another.
The airport has several banks with exchange facilities, and there are ATMs throughout the airport. Numerous restaurants and cafes are available in the terminals, as well as duty-free shops and shopping areas with a variety of retail outlets. Travel agencies, a pharmacy and luggage storage are also available.
Parking at Helsinki Vantaa International Airport is charged at rates ranging from €10 to €35 for one day. Short-term parking for pick-ups and drop-offs is charged at €2 every 10 minutes.

The airport's Conference and Congress Centre has nine meeting rooms for up to 140 people, and smaller rooms for two to eight people. There are also workstations located at the eService Bar near Gate 20.
