Fort Lauderdale International
Fort Lauderdale - Hollywood International Airport is located three miles (5km) southwest of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The facility is one of the busiest airports in Florida, serving more than 22 million passengers each year.
The airport's location, a convenient distance from the beaches and theme parks of Florida and an easy 21 miles (34km) from Miami, makes it a great alternative to the even busier Miami International Airport.
Fort Lauderdale - Hollywood International Airport has four terminals are spread far apart, but friendly staff and free shuttle service make transfers much easier. The airport is known for its efficient processing times, and though shopping and restaurants offer limited choices, the airport is a popular travel hub for connections to the Caribbean with flights to Nassau, Port-au-Prince, Cancun and Kingston.
The airport is located 25 miles (40km) north of Miami and five miles (8km) from the beaches of Fort Lauderdale.
Getting to the city
Shared shuttle vans with GO Airport Shuttle & Executive Car Service can be booked at the transportation desks located in each terminal. They offer a door-to-door service from the airport to most local destinations. Broward County Transit (BCT) bus services and TriRail feeder buses operate from bus stops outside the terminal buildings. The TriRail train service connects the airport with Miami International (MIA). Taxis are available 24 hours a day from the lower level outside each terminal. All major rental car companies are located at the Car Rental Centre.

All major rental car companies such as Avis, Budget, Dollar, National and Hertz are located at the Car Rental Centre. Passengers arriving at Terminal 1 should follow the signs to the Concourse B Pedestrian Bridge. All other terminals have a shuttle bus service located on the baggage claim level that ferries passengers to the Car Rental Centre.
Yellow Cab taxis are available 24 hours a day from the lower level outside each terminal. Rate comparison charts are posted at the Transportation Podium located outside the baggage area. Drivers may accept up to five people for the fare stated on the taxi's meter. It costs about US$70 to the city centre.
There are ATMs, shops, bars and restaurants throughout the airport. Each terminal has a business centre with fax and photocopy facilities. Disabled facilities are good; those with special needs should contact their airline in advance.
There is ample short and long-term parking available adjacent to the terminal. Hourly parking is charged at $1 every 20 minutes up to $36 per day, and daily rates are similar with a daily limit of $15. Economy parking goes up to $7.50 per day. The parking garages are serviced by free shuttles to all the terminals.
Flights to Fort Lauderdale - Hollywood Airport are available on Air Canada, Delta, American Airlines, Frontier, Caribbean Airlines, Virgin America, Condor, Continental, JetBlue, Southwest, Spirit, Sunwing, AirTran, US Airways, and WestJet.
The airport offers free wifi throughout the terminal.
Each terminal has a Business Service Centre with mail drop boxes, internet terminals, currency exchange and copy/fax services.
