Guatemala City Airport
The airport is situated four miles (6km) south of Guatemala City, and about 16 miles (25km) from Antigua.
Getting to the city
There is an airport shuttle bus, which meets most flights and drops off at the larger hotels. Bus 32 leaves for the centre every 30 minutes and buses leave regularly from Guatemala City to Antigua (journey time one hour). Taxis are also available.
Local time is GMT -6.
Car rental companies include Avis, Budget, Hertz and National.
Taxis are available outside the terminal building and cost in the range of US$6-10 to Guatemala and US$10-15 to Antigua. It is adviseable to agree on a price with the cab driver ahead of time.
There are bars, shops and restaurants at the airport. Shopping at the airport is particularly good, with plenty of local crafts on offer. Other facilities include a post office and pharmacy, hotel reservations and tourist information kiosks. An ATM is available in the departure lounge. There is a currency exchange at the airport, but they are not known for having good rates.
Long- and short-term options are available.
The airport itself does not have wifi, but several of the restarants in the terminal do. Passengers will need to buy something in order to receive the password.
