Getting to the city

Buses go to the Venice-Santa Lucia railway station, via Piazzale Roma, every 20 minutes. The ATVO FlyBus and ACTV buses leave regularly for the Piazzale Roma and Mestre Railroad station, including a few night buses. The Alilaguna boats are a faster way into central Venice. The dock is a 5-10 minute walk from the airport.

Car rental

Car hire companies with offices at the airport include Europa, Maggiore, Sixt, Avis, Europcar, Hertz, Thrifty, Locauto and Budget.

Airport Taxis

Both regular and water taxis are available from the airport. An authorised (yellow) taxi cab to the city centre takes between 40 minutes and an hour.


Facilities at the airport include ATMs, currency exchange facilities, a post office, banks, a tax-free customs service, VIP lounges, a business centre, a prayer room, information desks, travel agencies, baby-changing facilities, a family area, a spa and first aid facilities. There are also a range of shopping and dining options.


Short-term parking is available in P1 and P2 and starts at €6 for the first two hours or €9 for the first six hours. Long-term options are available in car parks 3, 4 and 5 and range from €4.50 per day to €18per day depending upon season and parking lot. All parking lots are within easy walking distance of the terminal.

There are plenty of airlines offering flights to Venice Marco Polo Airport. Flights to Venice from across Europe can be booked on Iberia, Vueling, Air France, Air Berlin, KLM, British Airways, Spanair, Air Europa, Lufthansa, Aer Lingus and Alitalia. Business Lounges

The Marco Polo Club, which is open from 5am to 10pm daily, is the best business lounge to use at Venice Airport. The €22 entrance fee gets you access to workstations, internet, telephone, TV, fax and video facilities as well as a bar service. For fully equipped meeting rooms and conference facilities head to the Travalax business centre on the second floor. It offers a range of business services including translation services, filing, photocopying, faxing, telephones, workstations and audiovisual equipment.
