Abidjan International Airport

Felix Houphouet Boigny International (ABJ)

Located 10 miles (16km) east of Abidjan, Abidjan International Airport is the primary airport for flights to the Ivory Coast. Also known as Félix Houphouët-Boigny International Airport or Port Bouet Airport, the modest facility processes roughly two million passengers each year.

The main terminal building has been renovated recently, and is a pleasant and efficient facility with basic amenities including a few shops and restaurants, however passengers should be prepared that there is no working ATM.

The airport is located 10 miles (16km) southeast of the city centre.

Getting to the city

Orange taxis which charge set fares are the best option for safe transport; note that taxi fares often double after dark. Rental cars are also available.

Car rental

Car hire companies, including Hertz, are represented at the airport.

Airport Taxis

The safest taxis are the official orange taxis, although even these are not always metered. Numerous touts will try to offer you a deal but they are best avoided.

Transfer between terminals

You can easily walk between the adjacent Domestic and International Terminals.

There is a bank with a currency exchange service, and an ATM which works intermittently. Other facilities include a VIP Lounge, a pharmacy, shops, a bar and a cafeteria. There is a tourist desk in the main arrivals hall.

There is one main parking area at Abidjan International Airport, located right outside the terminals.

Flights to Abidjan International Airport are available on only a few airlines: Air France, Brussels Airlines, Emirates, Air Burkina, and Afriqiyah Airways.

Wifi is available in the VIP Lounge and the Departure Lounge.

Business Lounges

There are no dedicated business lounges in Abidjan International Airport, however there are internet and fax services available in the Phone Shop.
