Casablanca Mohammed V Airport (CMN)

Overview

The biggest airport in Morocco, Mohammed V International Airport (also known as Nouaceur Airport) is situated 19 miles (30km) outside of Casablanca. The facility serves more than seven million passengers each year, and is the hub for Morocco's flag carrier Royal Air Maroc, as well as Jet4you, Air Arabia Maroc and Regional Airlines.

Flights to Mohammed V International Airport come in from destinations all over the world, including New York, Montreal, Dubai, Cairo, Istanbul, Zurich, Lisbon, Amsterdam, Rome, Paris and London; however, there are currently no direct flights to Mohammed V International Airport from South America, Asia or Oceania.

The airport itself has a notorious reputation for slow-moving queues and unfriendly service, and most staff members speak only Arabic. Passengers should allow plenty of time for connections, and use that time to browse the shops and restaurants, or take advantage of the wifi available in the terminal.

The airport is situated 16 miles (25km) south of Casablanca.

Getting to the city

Taxis are freely available outside the airport terminal, operating on set fares. Regular CTM bus sevices and train shuttles connect to the city and the port.

Facilities

The airport has shops, restaurants and bars, ATMs and currency exchange services and a post office. There is a Tourist Help desk, a VIP Lounge, business centre, car rental service and disabled facilities, although it is recommended that those with special needs should contact their airline in advance.

Parking

Short-term parking at Mohammed V International Airport is charged at MAD 5 for the first hour, MAD 8 for two hours, MAD 10 for three hours, MAD 12 for four hours, and MAD 15 for five hours. Long-term parking is also available.
