Reno-Tahoe International Airport (RNO)

Overview

Reno-Tahoe International Airport may be the second-busiest airport in Nevada, but it is still reasonably small and friendly. It is mainly used by holidaymakers heading for Nevada's holiday and ski resorts at Lake Tahoe.

Reno-Tahoe International Airport has a modest selection of shopping and dining options, and, being in Nevada, it also offers passengers a couple of slot machines. The airport is a great gateway to the Nevada's great outdoors and a number of airlines from across the United States offer flights to Reno-Tahoe International Airport.

Location

The airport is just three miles (6km) from downtown Reno.

Getting to the city

The RTC Ride runs between the airport and downtown Reno. The pick-up zone is at the north end near the baggage claim area. Route 19 operates to and from the airport on weekdays. Taxis are also available from the same area and the ride into town takes just ten minutes.

Car rental

On-site car rental operators include Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Hertz, National and Thrifty. While Advantage is located off-site but provides a free shuttle service from the airport to their rental facility.

Airport Taxis

Airport taxis can be found just outside the baggage claim area. The trip into town takes ten minutes.

Facilities

Facilities at Reno-Tahoe International Airport include ATMs, mail-drop boxes, luggage trolleys, massage chairs, a service dog relief area, souvenir shops, newsstands, a PGA Tour Shop as well as a range of restaurants and snack bars.

Parking

Short-term parking is charged at $2 for the first hour and $1 per hour thereafter, up to $24 per day. Long-term rates are similar, but the daily rate is $14. Parking is located opposite the terminal.

Only a small number of airlines offering flights to Reno-Tahoe International Airport. These include Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, American Eagle, Continental, Delta, Southwest, United and US Airways.
