Overview

Located nine miles (14km) from the central business district of Dayton, James M. Cox Dayton International Airport is conveniently situated for flights to Ohio as it is near several main interstate highways.

A travel hub for the Midwestern US, Dayton International Airport is reachable from most major US airports within a 90-minute flight, and so flights to Dayton International Airport are available from many cities, including Atlanta, New York, Denver, Chicago, Minneapolis, Cleveland, Dallas, Baltimore, Orlando, and Washington DC.

The airport itself is pleasant, with a variety of restaurants and shops, as well as seasonal art exhibitions to entertain passengers while they wait. The facility has only one terminal, making connections quick and easy.

Location

The airport is nine miles (14km) from central Dayton.

Getting to the city

RTA Route 43 connects the airport to downtown Columbus between 6am and 9:15pm on weekdays, 7:10am and 9:20pm on Saturdays, and 11:10am and 9:15pm on Sundays. Note that Sunday service is an express route to the NB Wright Stop Plaza.

Car rental

Car rental desks are located in the baggage claim area, and include Alamo, Avis, Budget, Enterprise, Hertz, and National.

Airport Taxis

Taxis are available between 7am and midnight, and can be booked via the Taxi Starter booth directly in front of the terminal.

Facilities

Terminal facilities include an information centre, lost and found, business centre, USO office, meditation room, shoe shine, massage chairs, charging stations, ATMs, pay phones, vending machines, a postal and FedEx mail drop, several restaurants and bars, and a booksellers and newsagents.

Parking

The parking garage, located adjacent to the terminal, costs $2 per half hour up to a daily maximum of $16. The Short-Term Lot is free for the first 30 minutes, then charged at $3 per half hour up to $24 per day. The Long-Term Blue Lot is $2 per hour up to $14 per day. The Economy Lot, connected to the terminal via shuttle, is $2 per hour, $6 per day, or $36 per week.

The airport has free wifi throughout the terminal.

Business Lounges

There is a Business Travellers' Centre with fax, photocopying, phone and internet services, as well as meeting rooms and conference facilities. It is located between Heritage Booksellers and Boston Stoker Gourmet Coffees.
