Doha International Airport
Doha International Airport (DOH)
Overview
The only commercial airport in Qatar, Doha International Airport is a relentlessly busy facility that acts as a major travel hub between east and west. The base for Qatar Airways, flights to Doha International Airport come in from all over the world as 12 million passengers each year connect from one destination to another.
The facility was not designed for this volume of traffic, and is currently under construction to relieve the pressure of the large crowds, which can be downright unpleasant at peak times. Passengers spending more than an hour or two at the airport will want to head to the Oryx Lounge, which for $40 (free for business-class passengers) offers air-conditioned comfort and day-care facilities.
Location
The airport is three miles (5km) from Doha.
