T.F. Green Airport was named after Theodore Francis Green, Rhode Island's former governor and senator. It is a short drive from Providence and handles close to four million passengers each year.
T.F. Green's terminal contains only the bare essentials and a couple of dining venues for passengers only. The staff are friendly and helpful and there's a great massage therapy business for passengers spending extra time at the airport.
The airport is located about nine miles (14km) from Providence.
Getting to the city
Rhode Island Public Transit Route 8 connects the airport to downtown Providence, stopping at the InterLink facility on Jefferson Boulevard. Peter Pan Bus Lines provides service from the airport to central Providence, Foxboro, and Boston with a bus stop located at the far end of the commercial roadway in front of the airport. On weekdays MBTA commuter rail service is available between Southern Rhode Island (Wickford Junction), Green Airport and downtown Providence. An airport shuttle is also available from T.F. Green Airport to Courtyard Marriott, Omni, Biltmore, Hotel Providence, RI School of Design, Brown University, Marriott (Orms St.), Providence AMTRAK station and the Renaissance Hotel.

Most major car rental companies are represented at the airport, including Avis, Budget, Dollar, Hertz, Alamo, Thrifty, Advantage, Enterprise, and National.
Taxis are available outside the airport and take travellers to downtown Providence, Martha's Vineyard, and other local destinations.
A variety of restaurants, snack bars and cafes are located around the airport. A retail court and market place have a collection of shops and things for sale. There is also money exchange, shoe shine, hand massage and reflection room facilities available. The terminal also has conference facilities.
Long- and short-term parking is available at T.F Green Airport. Rates start at $6 for the first hour and $3 per hour thereafter. Daily rates range $12-26.
Flights to T.F. Green Airport can be booked on US Airways, US Airways Express, United, Delta, Continental, Cape Air, Southwest and Air Canada Express.
The airport provides free wifi throughout the terminal. Travellers need to simply log on to their web browser and connect to "AWG-WiFi." The free wireless service is available after viewing a 30-second advertisement.
T.F. Green Airport has a business centre on the second floor. It has power outlets, Internet access and speakerphones as well as space for up to 10 people.
