Ibiza Airport (IBZ)

Overview

Ibiza Airport is a small but busy airport on the popular holiday island of Ibiza. More than 85 percent of its five million annual passengers pass through the airport in the peak summer months between May and October, when many airlines offer additional seasonal flights to Ibiza. Flights to Ibiza may be difficult to find in winter.

Located 4.3 miles (7km) southwest of the main city, Ibiza Airport has only one terminal building with little to do beyond browsing the duty-free shop or having a beer at Medas. Getting to Ibiza from the airport is relatively easy, with buses and taxis readily available.

Location

The airport is situated about five miles (8km) south of Ibiza Town.

Getting to the city

A bus runs every half an hour from the airport to Ibiza Town (and return). It is more convenient to take taxis, which are available for transport to Ibiza and other towns on the island. There are ferry crossings from nearby Puerto Formentera to the island of Formentara throughout the day, taking about 45 minutes.

Airport Taxis

The 20 minute taxi ride to central Ibiza Town costs €12. A taxi to Playa d'en Bossa costs €9 and taxis from the Ibiza Airport to Santa Eulalia, San Juan and San Antonio are about €25.

Facilities

Facilities at Ibiza Airport include duty-free shops, restaurants, bars, fast food outlets, a bank, post office, bureau de change and ATMs. Disabled facilities are good; those with special needs should contact their airline in advance.

Parking

Parking at Ibiza Airport is available at a rate of roughly €0.019 per minute, with the first 30 minutes free. The daily rate is €10.80 for the first four days, and €8.65 per day thereafter.

Flights to Ibiza Airport are available via Aer Lingus, Air Berlin, Air Europa, bmi, British Airways, easyJet, Flybe, Germanwings, Iberia, Jet2.com, Luxair, Monarch, Ryanair, Spanair, Thomas Cook, Thomson, Transavia, TUIfly and Vueling, however many routes are seasonal.

Business Lounges

There are conference facilities in Ibiza Airport for up to 80 people, located in the Modular Auditorium in the technical block. There are no business lounges available, however.
