An airport that keeps things small and simple, Austin-Bergstrom International Airport is a pleasant facility serving the greater Austin region of Texas. Located five miles (8km) southeast of the city, the airport serves just more than ten million people each year.
The airport's small size makes it easy to get around, and passengers enjoy the laid-back atmosphere and friendly staff while listening to live music performed in the centre of the terminal as part of Austin-Bergstrom's Music in the Air programme.
Flights to Austin-Bergstrom International Airport are available to more than 40 destinations, mostly in the US with several seasonal routes to Mexico. The busiest routes are short trips from cities like Dallas, Houston, Denver and Atlanta.
The airport is situated eight miles (13km) from downtown Austin.
Getting to the city
The MetroAirport bus serves the airport every 30 minutes from the stop outside baggage claim. The trip takes 20 to 30 minutes to the city. Several hotels offer free shuttles, and taxis and car rentals are available too.

Taxi companies servicing Austin-Bergstrom airport include Yellow Cab, Austin Cab, ATX Co Op and Lone Star Cab. A trip from the airport to the CBD should take about 20 minutes. The minumum fare is $12.30.
Postal services are available at the airport, and there are several ATMs in the terminal. Shops include newsagents and a gift shop, and there are numerous restaurants and bars to choose from. There is also artwork on display, and live music performances on selected dates. The Business and Technology Center in the east concourse offers foreign currency exchange, standard airline trip insurance and internet access. There is also an on-site airport hotel.
The parking garage opposite the terminal charges $3 per hour and up to $23 per day. Lot A has similar rates up to $11 per day, and is a short walk to the terminal. The Long-Term Economy Lots charge $7 per day and are connected to the terminal by a free shuttle service.
Flights to Austin-Bergstrom International Airport are available on several airlines, including Southwest, American Airlines, US Airways, Aer Lingus, Delta, Air Canada, Continental, Lufthansa, Frontier, JetBlue, KLM, Alaska Airlines, SAS, and United.
There is free wifi throughout the terminal, but browsing time is limited to four hours per day.
There are conference facilities for up to 150 people available in the American Airlines Admirals Club and Business Centre, and it provides business services for members that include computer terminals with internet access, printers and fax machines, and plug points. Larger facilities are available in the Hilton Austin Airport, which can accommodate up to 800 people.
