Istanbul Ataturk Airport
Located 15 miles (24km) west of Istanbul, Ataturk International Airport is the biggest airport in Turkey and among the busiest in the world. Considered a major travel hub, flights to Ataturk International Airport are available on most major international airlines, with routes to far-flung cities like Cape Town, Dubai, Hong Kong, New York, Amsterdam, Chicago, and Singapore.
The terminal is an attractive place to spend a layover, with colourful mosaics covering the walls and luxury products adorning shop windows. Ataturk International Airport has a great selection of restaurants and duty-free shops as well.

Getting to the city
The Istanbul Metro system provides quick and easy access to the city, including the intercity bus terminal. Use metro station Zeytinburnu and transfer to a tram to reach the metro system, or Otgar for the international bus system. The airport 96T Bus of IETT connects the airport to Taksim Square. Shuttle buses provide transport to the Seabus port at Bakirkoy. Taxis are also available. Taxi rates are 50 percent higher between midnight and 6am.

The Istanbul Ataturk Airport is west of Istanbul and it takes around thirty minutes to reach Taksim Square by taxi. Fees depend largely on the destination in Istanbul. Rates are as much as fifty percent higher at night. Passengers should only take metered taxis and insist drivers turn the meter on.
Transfer between terminals
Escalator walkways as well as travelators connect Terminal 1 (domestic flights) to Terminal 2 (international flights).
Banks, ATMs, and bureaux de change are available. Hairdresser, florist, newsstand, and medical services are available. Other facilities include tourist information and hotel reservations, bars, restaurants, duty-free shopping, a conference centre, post office, and 24-hour left luggage.
There are open and roofed car park options available close to the terminal buildings. These both have long and short-term parking options.
Wifi is available in the International, Domestic, and General Aviation Terminals, and it's free for 120 minutes. This service is free at the lounges of the Arrivals and Departures Terminals.
Individual airline lounges have business services like printing, internet, and fax for passengers. Ataturk International Airport also has a fully-equipped conference centre.
