Overview
Situated in Orange County, John Wayne Airport is conveniently located only 14 miles (23km) from Disneyland and easy distance from other popular Southern California attractions like Hollywood and Universal Studios. Previously called Orange County Airport, the facility was renamed in 1979 after the famous Hollywood actor.
Housing three terminals with vaulted ceilings and large windows, John Wayne Airport has a number of shops and restaurants that provide basic necessities.
John Wayne Airport is a pleasant alternative to the mammoth facility and congestion of Los Angeles International Airport, and offers flights to a number of cities across North America, including Chicago, Houston, Denver, San Francisco, Mexico City, Minneapolis, Newark, Mexico City, Vancouver and Calgary.

The airport is located in Orange County, California, just 14 miles (23km) from the Disneyland Resort.
Getting to the city
Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) buses, and the iShuttle service John Wayne Airport. Additionally, an express bus runs to the Disneyland Resort on a set schedule. Taxis and rental cars are available. Uber and other similar mobile app based taxi services are also available. Most ground transportation services pick up travellers in the Ground Transportation Center (GTC).

On-site rental car companies include Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz and National.
Airport Taxis
Taxis are available from the Ground Transportation Centre at John Wayne Airport. Metered service is available but it is also possible to negotiate a flat rate for certain destinations. There is no charge for additional passengers. Uber and other similar mobile app based taxi services are also available.
Transfer between terminals
It is possible to walk between the terminals through connecting walkways.
