Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC)

Overview

Just a short drive from the city centre, Salt Lake City International Airport is a popular airport for business travellers and handles over 21 million passengers each year.

Salt Lake City Airport is well-equipped with passenger facilities, including shops, restaurants, an 18-hole golf course, kids play areas and DVD player rentals.

Location

The airport is situated five miles (8km) northwest of Salt Lake City.

Getting to the city

There is a Ground Transportation Desk located at the far end of baggage claim in both terminals where ground transportation options and information can be obtained. Greyhound and Utah Transit Authority provide bus services to many destinations. Numerous van companies provide transport to the city centre and hotel courtesy cars are readily available. Taxis and limousines are also available for hire.

Car rental

Rental car companies are located on the lower level of the short-term parking garage, across from the terminal. Car hire companies include Advantage, Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz and National.

Transfer between terminals

There is a free shuttle service that runs between the two terminals.

Facilities

There is a bank, bureau de change and ATMs in both terminals. Facilities for the disabled are excellent. Other facilities include restaurants and bars, shops, duty-free, children's play areas, shoe shiners, a barbershop/beauty shop, courtesy hotel reservation telephones and tourist information. A business centre in Terminal 2 offers Internet connections, printing, copying and faxing.

Parking

The parking garage is located southwest of the terminals and costs $2 for the first 30 minutes and $1 per 20 minutes thereafter up to a daily rate of $28. Long-term parking is available at $7 per day

Most major North American Airlines offer flights to Salt Lake City International Airport. Some of these include Delta, American Airways, United, Southwest Airlines and US Airways.

Business Lounges

Delta's Sky Club Lounge provides newspapers, internet, fax and conference facilities as well as complimentary snacks. For non-members, Zion Bank and Regus Express both offer fax and photocopying services.
