Located off the coast of Jacksonville, on Florida's northern Atlantic Coast, Amelia Island is the southernmost of the Sea Islands, which extend north along the coasts of Georgia and South Carolina. Amelia Island is a popular weekend destination from Jacksonville and Pensacola, drawing tourists with its excellent golf and tennis resorts, the stunning natural scenery in Fort Clinch State Park, and the lovely town of Fernandina Beach, which boasts beautiful Victorian mansions and a number of shops and restaurants. Perhaps the greatest attraction of the island, however, is the 13-mile (21km) stretch of pristine beach. Check out the official website listed below for more details on what is available for tourists on the island.
