Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport (BHM)


Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport (BHM) is a key airport for central Alabama, and serves well over three million passengers per year. The airport is situated just five miles (8km) from downtown Birmingham in Alabama. Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport mainly provides connections to destinations within the United States, such as Miami, Houston, Dallas, Detroit, Chicago, New Orleans and Charlotte. Birmingham airport is blessed with famously friendly staff, and displays an interesting collection of public art throughout the terminal building, with the best pieces being contributions from internationally renowned artist Larry Kirkland.


The airport is conveniently located about six miles (9km) from Birmingham's downtown business district.

Getting to the city

Several shuttle services, including the Meteors Shuttle and the Birmingham Door to Door, operate between the airport and the city, but reservations must be made prior to arrival. Taxi services are available 24 hours a day at ground level outside the baggage claim area.
