Airports in Calgary
Located 11 miles (17km) northeast of Calgary, Calgary International Airport is one of the biggest and busiest airports in western Canada, serving more than 12.5 million people per year on non-stop flights to many destinations throughout Canada, the United States, the Caribbean, Central America, Europe, and East Asia.
The terminal at Calgary International airport is sunny and airy, divided into four concourses and offering amenities like family play areas, a hair salon, and even places to walk your dog. There are also dozens of shops and restaurants, ranging from Subway to sit-down restaurants.
One of the advantages of flying into Calgary International Airport is that it is one of only eight airports in Canada with US Border Pre-Clearance Facilities, allowing passengers to pass through customs before landing in the US.
The airport is 12 miles (20km) northeast of downtown Calgary.
Getting to the city
There are a number of bus services running between the airport, the city centre and other Alberta destinations. Calgary Transit provides a public bus service to and from the airport. There is also an Airport Shuttle Express, which services most hotels in the Calgary area, and several hotels offer a courtesy shuttle service. Airport taxis are available outside Arrivals.
