La Paz Climate & Weather
La Paz Climate and Weather
La Paz's climate can vary greatly, depending on the area of the city in which visitors find themselves, owing largely to the differing altitudes across the city. The city is usually bright and sunny all year round, but in summer rain occurs in showers in the afternoon.
Because of the city's location near mountains, the sun sets relatively early and temperatures can plummet at night time, especially during the winter, when temperature can fall below freezing. However, year round temperatures are cool to mild, with the average in summer being 72°F (22°C) and in winter 59°F (15°C).
The peak travel season for La Paz, as for the rest of Bolivia, is winter (May to October) as this is the dry season.
