Airports in Sao Paulo
Governador André Franco Montoro International Airport is generally known as Sao Paulo-Guarulhos International Airport and is one of the main entry and exit points for those travelling to Brazil. Sao Paulo International handles over 26 million passengers each year. The high volume of air traffic means that over a quarter of flights at Sao Paulo International experience delays of more than 15 minutes.
The airport is located 16 miles (26km) northeast of Sao Paulo.
Getting to the city
EMTU buses depart GRU Airport, bound to Congonhas Airport, Praça da República, Tietê Bus Terminal and Barra Funda, Itaim Bibi, Circuit Paulista, and Brooklin Novo. The nearest metro station to the airport is Tietê. There the passenger must use a bus to get to the airport. There is an airport shuttle bus which drops off at the main hotels.
