Airports in Sal

Amílcar Cabral International Airport (SID)


Amilcar Cabral International Airport is the primary airport servicing Cape Verde. It is named for one of the foremost proponents of independence from colonial rule, Amilcar Cabral, who went on to lead the nationalist movements of Guinea-Bissau and Cape Verde. It has one terminal and serves a range of airlines.


The airport is a 1.3 miles (2km) west of the town of Espargos in central Sal.

Getting to the city

Taxis are available for transport to hotels and towns throughout the island, but are expensive. Shared taxis (aluguer) are also available.
