Santo Domingo is said to have an 'endless summer', with a tropical climate ensuring year round warm sunshine. Its coastal situation means the hot weather in Santo Domingo is tempered by sea breezes, and the temperature is rarely uncomfortable. Rain is common between May and November, but showers are usually about half an hour long, the weather drying out quickly to return to sunshine and blue skies.
