Airports in Birmingham
Birmingham Airport (BHX) is situated in England's West Midlands region. This easy-to-navigate airport is just six miles (10km) from central Birmingham, and is an increasingly popular hub for cheap flights in or out of Britain. Birmingham Airport is a hub for low-cost airlines such as bmi, Flybe, Ryanair, Monarch, Thomas Cook Airlines and Thomson Airways. Passengers can use the airport to fly to many destinations in Europe and there are often cheap flights to Birmingham Airport available from places far afield as the Middle East, North America, the Caribbean and India. The airport is modern and highly functional, with quick turnover times, and has great shopping facilities and an impressive range of food and beverage outlets.
The airport is situated eight miles (12km) southeast of Birmingham.
Getting to the city
Buses to the city centre and surrounds can be caught opposite the airport at the Bus and Coach Terminus. Bus 900 travels to the city centre from stand K. Birmingham city centre can also be reached via Birmingham International railway station connected to the airport by a free monorail system called the Air-Rail Link. Trains run from Birmingham International Station to Birmingham New Street Station and vice versa throughout the day but are less frequent in the evenings and on weekends. For onward travel, Birmingham International Station is connected to over 100 towns in and around the UK.
