Airports in Leeds
Leeds Bradford International Airport (LBA)
Overview
Serving Yorkshire and the surrounding areas, Leeds Bradford International Airport hosts many flights to holiday resorts in Greece and Spain offered by discount airlines. The airport is located seven miles (11km) northwest of Leeds.
Leeds Bradford International Airport has an unfortunate reputation for congestion and chaos. Visitor frustration has prompted officials to plan major renovations for the facility, which will allow it to handle more than five million passengers per year by 2016 (up from its current load of 2.7 million). The airport is also prone to difficult weather conditions, meaning flights are often delayed or re-routed.
Despite these drawbacks, Leeds Bradford International Airport has some nice facilities for passengers, including good duty-free shops and a selection of restaurants in the Food Village.
Location
The airport is situated nine miles (14km) northwest of Leeds.
