Airports in Atlanta
One of the busiest airports in the US, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport serves 89 million passengers each year on thousands of domestic and international flights to and from destinations like Paris, Toronto, Cancun, Dakar, London, Johannesburg, Seoul and San Francisco.
The enormous airport is made of two terminals connected by an atrium containing numerous services, shops, restaurants, and a food court. First-time visitors may find it difficult to find their way around, however the friendly staff members are always ready to assist, and a number of motorized walkways help to speed the long journey between gates.
Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport is located seven miles (11km) south of central Atlanta, and is the main airport for Georgia, in addition to serving as a transit hub for many international flights to and from various US destinations.
The airport is situated 10 miles (16km) south of downtown Atlanta.
Getting to the city
The airport is serviced quickly and conveniently by the trains and buses of the local Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA). Other options like taxis, shuttles and limousines are all available at the Ground Transportation Center, located near the baggage claim area of the arrival's lobby.
