Airports in Accra
Located about seven miles (12km) north of Accra, Kotoka International Airport is the largest airport in Ghana and a travel hub for West Africa. One of only a handful of airports in Africa accredited for direct flights to the US, Kotoka International Airport serves more than two million passengers each year on flights around Africa as well as to Europe and North America.
Kotoka International Airport can be a bit chaotic for some travellers, and ongoing construction and renovation add to the confusion, with long queues and delays a common occurrence. A few shops and restaurants are all that are offered in the way of entertainment. Passengers should definitely bring a good book and a lot of patience when flying to Kotoka International Airport.
The airport is situated seven miles (12km) from Accra city centre.
