Nightlife
The nightlife in Thassos is both lively and varied, catering to a number of tourists from all over Europe. The majority of bars, cafés and restaurants are in the capital, Limenas, but there are also events hosted by most of the holiday resorts. There is also live entertainment on many of the beaches in the evening. In Limenas there are good tavernas near the harbour, and the most popular are Taverna Tarsanas and Syrtaki Taverna.
Limenas also has bars with live music, many of them featuring bouzouki (Greek music) performances. Island Café, near the old harbour, is great for cocktails and dancing, while Full Moon bar is also very popular. There are also a few bouzouki bars in the island's villages, and rembetika music (introduced by refugees from Asia Minor) can be heard at Taverna Orizontes in Theologos.
