Shopping
The main areas for shopping on Thassos are in Limenas, the island's capital, and in the holiday resorts. In Limenas there are many souvenirs shops, boutiques, gift shops, supermarkets, bakeries, butcheries and electrical shops. Pottery, leather goods and embroidered linens are also available, as are good quality clothes, shoes, jewellery and antiques. The best Thassos souvenirs are local products such as thyme-scented honey and olive oil, Thassos marble and olive wood carvings, and (of course!) ouzo. Many of these are available from the Prinos streetmarket on Monday mornings. At the coast most shops are near the beach, and in the mountain villages they are generally found in the village centre.- Protaras - Ayia Napa?
