92nd Indianapolis 500-Mile Race

Since its inaugural race in 1911, the Indianapolis 500 has become the 'Greatest Spectacle in Racing'. Each year, the world's top drivers compete for one of the most recognizable prizes in all of sports, the Borg-Warner Trophy. The 500 Festival takes place in the weeks leading up to the event, staging the nation's largest half-marathon and culminating in the IPL 500 Festival Parade the day before the race.

Indianapolis Tennis Championships

The Indianapolis Tennis Championships include men's singles and doubles hardcourt tournaments, viewed by many of the world's best players as premier warm-ups for the US Open grand slam. The event has been voted 'Tournament of the Year' by ATP players a record 11 times. Past singles winners include James Blake, Andy Roddick and Robby Ginepri.

Indianapolis Air Show

The air show is an annual charity event that invites aviation and sports enthusiasts of all ages to witness a world class line-up of the best aerobatic performers and warbirds available. Performers include the US Army's parachute team, stunt planes, wingwalkers and the Golden Knights. Highlight of the show is the US Air Force Air Combat Command demonstration of the F-22A jets, which exhibit a unique combination of stealth, speed, agility and precision, along with air-to-air and air-to-ground combat capabilities. Other attractions include a hot air 'balloonathon', a car show, kids zone and a variety of exhibitors and vendors.

Indianapolis Colts NFL Football

Visitors in Indianapolis from August to January have the opportunity to see quarterback Peyton Manning, head coach Tony Dungy and the rest of the Superbowl champs in action at the RCA Dome downtown. Those who want to experience the tradition of tailgating or take part in the huge pre-game family party at Pan Am Plaza next door should head over early.

Indiana Pacers NBA Basketball, Indiana Fever WNBA Basketball

In the Hoosier state, basketball reigns supreme, and Indianapolis is home to both men's and women's professional franchise teams, the Pacers and the Fever. At Conseco Fieldhouse, the home court, visitors can indulge at more than 100 concession stands during halftime or stock up on the latest Pacers and Fever merchandise at the gift shop.
