Airports in Guadalajara

Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla International Airport (GDL)

Overview

Guadalajara International Airport is located 10 miles (16km) south of central Guadalajara, and is the third-busiest airport in Mexico. Also known as Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla International Airport, the facility processes around seven million passengers each year.

Like many smaller airports in Mexico, Guadalajara International Airport is troubled with long queues; however, the facility is fairly efficient and has friendly and helpful staff members. The airport is currently undergoing renovations and an expansion that will add an additional concourse and parking complex; this will significantly improve operations and alleviate some of the congestion that causes delays.

Flights to Guadalajara International Airport come in from cities around North America, including Mexico City, Chicago, Los Angeles, Dallas, Atlanta, Salt Lake City, Houston, Cancun, Phoenix, Tijuana, Monterrey, San Francisco and Panama City.
