Airports in Marrakech

Menara International Airport (RAK)

Overview

Marrakech-Menara International Airport is among the busiest airports in Morocco, coming in right behind Casablanca's Mohammed V International Airport with roughly three million passengers processed each year. The facility is attractive and modern with a few cafés and some good duty-free shops; however it is often crowded and chaotic with long queues being a common feature.

Flights to Marrakech-Menara International Airport come in from all over Europe, including major cities like London, Paris, Copenhagen, Lisbon, Frankfurt, Barcelona and Amsterdam; however, many long-haul flights still connect via Casablanca.

Location

The airport is situated four miles (6km) south-west of Marrakech.

Getting to the city

There is a shuttle bus (No. 19) running from the airport every hour between roughly 6am and 12.25am, and to the airport between 6am and 11.40pm. It goes via Hivernage, Jemaa El Fna, Bab Doukkala, Gueliz, ONCF Station.

'Petit' taxis are available at Parking Lot 1, and the fare should be about MAD 80 to MAD 100, with a 50 percent increase at night. Larger taxis are available at increased rates.
