Airports in Albuquerque
Albuquerque International Sunport Airport (ABQ)
Overview
The sunny Spanish Pueblo-style Albuquerque International Sunport is the primary airport for both Albuquerque and Santa Fe, and the largest in New Mexico. Located three miles (5km) southeast of the city, the airport processes nearly six million passengers each year through its terminal.
The airport is cheerful and offers plenty of diversions in terms of shops and other attractions like art galleries, although the dining options in the terminal are fairly limited for an airport of its size.
While Albuquerque International Sunport is an international airport, its busiest routes are domestic flights from Phoenix, Denver, Dallas, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Atlanta and Salt Lake City.
Location
Albuquerque International Sunport is located approximately four miles (6km) southeast of the Albuquerque central business district.
Getting to the city
Ground transportation from the airport and around Albuquerque and New Mexico is provided by numerous cab companies, door-to-door shuttles, buses, limousines, out of town shuttles and hotel/motel courtesy vehicles. Sun Trans Bus number 50 serves downtown Albuquerque.
