Airports in Lagos

Murtala Muhammed International Airport (LOS)

The primary airport for Nigeria, Murtala Muhammed International Airport is located 14 miles (22.5km) northwest of central Lagos. The airport comprises two terminals, with the newer international terminal modelled on Amsterdam's award-winning Schipol Airport, although facilities aren't necessarily up to the same standard; there are only a few shops and restaurants to choose from, and many of the facilities are old and shabby.

Flights to Murtala Muhammed International Airport come in from destinations around the world, including major cities like London, Rome, Cairo, Dubai, Paris, Tripoli, New York, Johannesburg, Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Doha, Houston, Istanbule, and Nairobi.

The airport is located 13 miles (22km) northwest of Lagos.

Getting to the city

Larger hotels have a shuttle bus meeting all international flights. Otherwise, taxis are the safest and most efficient way to travel to and from the airport.
