The climate in Oslo is milder than might be imagined given the city's northerly situation. Temperatures are influenced by warm air carried across the Atlantic from the Gulf Stream. In summer Oslo enjoys long, warm sunny days ideal for outdoor activities in the city's parks. Winter brings snowfalls and temperatures a few degrees above or below freezing point.
