The climate of Halifax is less severe than inland Nova Scotia because it is tempered by the sea. Winter weather in Halifax is, however, very cold, snowy and wet. Springtime remains damp, with a great deal of rain and fog. In summer the weather generally warms up and dries out, pleasant breezes blowing in from the ocean. The best season in Halifax is autumn, when days are warm and dry, nights balmy and trees are dressed in gorgeous shades of gold and russet.
