Airports in Portland Oregon
Portland International Airport (PDX)
Overview
Close to 15 million passengers pass through Portland International Airport each year. It is the busiest airport in Oregon and accepts flights from across the United States and Canada. There is also one intercontinental flight to and from Amsterdam.
Portland International Airport doesn't offer too many passenger amenities and there are often traffic jams en route to the airport. It is best to allow some extra time when picking up or dropping off passengers. A laptop or tablet device is recommended for those passengers spending a couple of hours in the airport.
Location
The airport is sited 9 miles (14km) from downtown Portland.
Getting to the city
Portland's MAX light rail system serves the airport, connecting to the heart of the city, for a fare of around $2 and travelling time of around 40 minutes. All transportation pick ups are located in the central area of the airport terminal's lower roadway on the baggage claim and departure level.
