Things to see and do with kids in Edinburgh

Edinburgh Kids Attractions

The historic city of Edinburgh is brimming with old castles and fascinating sights and children can have a great time exploring this fantastic city too. Kids love Edinburgh because it is spooky and old, and little boys will love the city for the castle alone, which could fill a whole day with excitement.

The kids will love a visit to the Royal Yacht Brittania as well, or on a sunny day a visit to the many animals at the Edinburgh Zoo, or a picnic and Frisbee session in the beautiful Royal Botanic Garden for a day in the fresh air and sunshine. Fair weather days are rare in Edinburgh so make the most of them! For an educational excursion, visit the Museum of Edinburgh and be mystified by the history of this famous city, or venture to Our Dynamic Earth which will astound the little ones and get them thinking about their place in the grand scheme of things.

When skies are grey and outdoor attractions are not an option, take the kids to discover some aquatic animals at the Deep Sea World Aquarium, or make use of indoor playgrounds such as the one in Edinburgh Park or the Happy Castle Play Centre. Another real highlight of Edinburgh for kids (and often their parents too) is the Edinburgh Dungeon.
