Airports in Ljubljana
Ljubljana International Airport (LJU)
Overview
Ljubljana Airport is located 12 miles (19km) north of Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. Also known as Ljubljana Jože Puènik Airport, the facility is the busiest airport in Slovenia, serving roughly 1.5 million passengers each year.
The airport is small, but clean and attractive, with a small selection of shops and restaurants, and a pleasant visitor's terrace from which passengers can watch planes land and take off. The passenger terminal also has a range of original artworks by influential Slovenian artists.
As with many small airports, Ljubljana Airport can be disorganised, with queues and delays at peak times. Staff members are friendly and helpful though, and many experiences of Ljubljana Airport are hassle-free.
