Airports in Ljubljana
Ljubljana Joze Pucnik Airport (LJU)
Overview
Ljubljana Airport is located 12 miles (19km) north of the Slovenian capital city. Also known as Ljubljana Joze Pucnik Airport, the facility is the busiest airport in Slovenia, serving roughly 1.5 million passengers each year.
The airport is small, but clean and orderly, with a small selection of shops and restaurants, and a pleasant terrace from which visitors can watch planes land and take off. The passenger terminal also has a range of original artworks by influential Slovenian artists on display.
Like many small airports, Ljubljana Airport can be disorganised, with queues and delays at peak times. However, staff members are friendly and helpful, and most experiences of Ljubljana Airport are hassle-free.
