Transport

Buses and trains to Uppsala arrive at the station in the centre of town, within easy walking distance of most of the restaurants and attractions in the town. Driving in Uppsala can be confusing with many rather narrow and winding streets; the city is very bicycle and pedestrian-friendly, so it's a good idea to just park the car and leave it. There is an excellent internal bus system with stops every few hundred metres, and fares are around SEK 20 (payable by credit card, or by buying a ticket from a vending machine). Värdekorts are prepaid rechargeable bus cards that give travellers a discount on bus fares. Taxis are also available in town, although it is advisable to use one from the four main companies: Uppsala Taxi, Taxi Kurir, Taxi Direkt and Taxi 020.
