San Antonio International Airport (SAT)
Overview
Recently renovated, the San Antonio International Airport is well-connected to two major highways making it an easy drive from San Antonio. Although it doesn't have a wide selection of shopping and dining options, the airport offers a warm and friendly environment for air travellers.
San Antonio International Airport serves eight million
passengers each year and there are flights connecting it to a
number of major destinations across North America. These include,
Washington DC, New York, Detroit, Chicago, Atlanta and even Mexico
City and Cancun to name a few.
Location
The airport is located 8 miles (12km) or a 15-minute drive from the city centre.
Getting to the city
Tansportation information booths and officials can give information from terminal 1 and 2 (Tel: 210-207-3411). Public buses cost only US$1 to the city centre and can be reached by a free airport shuttle to the bus stop. (Tel: 210-362-2020). A faster shared shuttle departs from the airport to hotels located in the city centre and costs US$18 (Tel: 210-281-9900). Taxis can be caught easily from outside arrivals terminals and costs up from US$20. Nine car rental agencies can also be found at the arrivals terminals 1 and 2.
