The climate of Caracas is typically tropical, the year-round heat and humidity slightly tempered by the high elevation of the city and its proximity to the ocean. There is little variation in the high temperatures experienced year-round, and the only seasons are the dry and wet season. During the rainy season from June to December heavy downpours are experienced, but are short-lived.
