Getting Around

There are a number of ways to get around Hue. Like most other Vietnamese cities, Hue's streets are flooded with bicycles, motorcycles, and taxis. Taxis are a comfortable mode of transport and are relatively inexpensive. Passengers are advised to negotiate a price before starting their journey in order to avoid being overcharged. Motorbike taxis are a prevalent mode of transport in the city and provide the fastest way of getting around. However, foreigners are advised to ensure they wear a helmet at all times as accidents are common. Those who are confident motorcyclists can easily hire a motorbike in Hue. Cyclos are Vietnamese trishaws, which are also available. They are not the fastest mode of transportation, but do provide a novel way to travel short distances. It is also worth noting that Hue is quite compact and walkable.
