The largest festival of music in the United Kingdom sees over 100,000 people in attendance each year. The biggest names in music attract weekenders and day visitors to the muddy fields outside the town of Glastonbury. The festival has a rich heritage and much to see and do aside from the excellent live acts, with arts and crafts, comedy and cabaret all in the offing. The festivities usually take place over the last weekend in June. Note that because of the 2012 London Olympic Games, the Glastonbury Festival will not be held this year, but will return in June 2013.
