On the other side of the seasons to the Spring Festival, and closely associated with it, is this autumnal celebration of contemporary arts. Organised by the Budapest Festival Centre, the Autumn Festival is officially known as the Cafe Budapest Contemporary Art Festival and every year in October it hosts the most progressive productions of theatre, dance and music that it can conjure up - always with impressive results. Apart from the performing arts there are exhibitions and gallery events all over the city to coincide with this event and a lot of celebration of photography, film and computer-generated art take place at various venues throughout the city. Artists include both local and international acts. The festival attracts thousands of visitors every year and it is an exciting and inspiring time to visit Budapest which proudly shows off its artistic pedigree and becomes an art-lovers paradise amid the bright autumn colours.
