Pike Place Market Street Festival
As a fundraising event, the Street Festival celebrates the beginning of summer with live music, a huge variety of food, children's activities, beer gardens, and arts and crafts stalls. The festival started in 1971 as a way of thanking Seattle's residents for their vote to save the market, and today the Market Foundation works to preserve the vitality and diversity of one of Seattle's most iconic attractions. The festival recently helped to fund extensive renovations to the marketplace. The festival kicks off with a parade down Pike Place featuring a variety of drill teams, and continues with a kids' amusement area, a wine and beer tent, and live musical entertainment. All the local artisans that market-goers have become used to will be at the market as well as some special vendors who will be selling goods only for the duration of the festival.
Venue: Pike Place Market
