National Festival of Kites

The National Festival of Kites is wonderful annual event held to inspire the creativity of the Sri Lankan people, children and adults alike. Hordes of people gather near Mount Lavinia Beach to marvel at a sky filled with kites, which are made from an assortment of colourful sarees, dried leaves and other interesting finds.
