Anthrax

What is it? A bacteria causing a serious disease effecting the skin, regional lymph nodes and bloodstream. How is it transmitted? Through a cut, contact with contaminated animal products, or soil containing anthrax spores. Where is it present? Worldwide. Level of risk? Very low. What can I do to prevent getting it? Avoid direct contact with soil and products originating from animals, such as animal skin souvenirs. Treatment? Early treatment and diagnosis is essential. Antibiotics are effective.
